The Castle
|

I snapped this on the way to work. The Allegheny County Jail was designed by HHRichardson and opened in 1886. Because it was so outmoded it was closed by court order in 1995, but still houses juvenile court offices.
When I was tiny I was convinced it was a castle. Such a beautiful building, when it stops raining every weekend I intend to get into the city for more pictures
